Seven Shopify Data Entry Expert Tips
Seven checks for product data before a Shopify upload: naming rules, variants, images, descriptions, and tags.
Done-for-you beauty uploads
We upload beauty products to Shopify with every shade and size as its own variant, ingredient lists exactly as supplied, and each swatch matched to its shade.
Free, custom quote for every job. No price list.

At a glance
Product Uploads enters and uploads beauty and cosmetics products to Shopify for you, working from your supplier's files, ingredient lists, and images. These are the facts most stores ask about first.

The problem, and the fix
Beauty products look alike in a spreadsheet and very different on a shopper's skin. One foundation can come in dozens of shades, each needing its own name, SKU, swatch, and stock count, plus an ingredient list that reads exactly as it does on the pack.
We enter the brand's full shade name with its code, such as 120W Ivory, and add the shade family your store uses, such as fair, light, medium, tan, or deep, so shoppers can filter.
We copy each list word for word from the supplier's documents, check it belongs to the right product and size, and ask you when a list is missing instead of guessing.
We name every image by product and shade, attach it to its variant, and write alt text that names both, so a shopper who picks Berry sees Berry.
We use one size format across your catalog, with metric and US units side by side, such as 30 mL (1 fl oz).
We list every item in a set with its size, and set up cross-sell links between minis, refills, and the full-size products.
What we handle
We handle the full record for each product: shades and sizes, ingredients and directions as supplied, images and swatches, and the fields Shopify uses for collections, filters, and search. You set the conventions, and we apply them across every brand you stock.
Need something that isn't listed? Tell us which fields your store uses, and we'll include them in your quote.

Here is how a supplier's shade list becomes one Shopify product with a variant for each shade. The product and its data are an example, not a real client.
A supplier sends one row per shade, with codes instead of shade names, two spellings of the product name and four ways of writing the size. The ingredient list sits in a separate PDF:
| Item code | Description | Shade | Size | Barcode | Wholesale |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| SF110 | SILK FDN 110N | 110N | 30ml | 2001234500111 | US$14.50 |
| SF120 | SILK FDN 120W | 120W | 30ml | 2001234500128 | US$14.50 |
| SF210 | Silk Foundation 210N | 210N | 1 fl.oz | 2001234500210 | US$14.50 |
| SF220 | SILK FDN 220W | 220W | 30 mL | 2001234500227 | US$14.50 |
| SF310 | Silk Foundation 310N | 310N | 30ML | 2001234500319 | US$14.50 |
| SF320 | SILK FDN 320W | 320W | 30ml | 2001234500326 | US$14.50 |
We turn it into one product with a Shade option. Six shades become 6 variants under one handle, each with its full shade name, SKU, barcode, and swatch image:
| Handle | Option1: Shade | Variant SKU | Variant barcode | Variant image |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| silk-foundation | 110N Porcelain | SF110 | 2001234500111 | silk-foundation-110n-porcelain.jpg |
| silk-foundation | 120W Ivory | SF120 | 2001234500128 | silk-foundation-120w-ivory.jpg |
| silk-foundation | 210N Sand | SF210 | 2001234500210 | silk-foundation-210n-sand.jpg |
| silk-foundation | 220W Beige | SF220 | 2001234500227 | silk-foundation-220w-beige.jpg |
| silk-foundation | 310N Tan | SF310 | 2001234500319 | silk-foundation-310n-tan.jpg |
| silk-foundation | 320W Honey | SF320 | 2001234500326 | silk-foundation-320w-honey.jpg |
Some brands publish a different ingredient list for some shades. When that happens, we keep a separate list for each shade instead of one list for the product, and agree with you where it goes so your theme shows the right one.

Every beauty job starts with a free, custom quote based on your products, shades, and fields, then runs in the same four steps.
We gather descriptions, images, and specifications from you and your suppliers. We can hold publishing until a launch date you set.
Price lists, shade charts, ingredient PDFs, and swatch images. We can hold a launch until its release date.
We fix inaccuracies and inconsistencies, and standardize names, sizes, and formats to your store's conventions.
Shade codes become full shade names, and sizes follow one format with metric and US units.
We check everything for accuracy, clarity, and searchability before it goes live.
Each shade is checked against its swatch, SKU, and barcode, and each ingredient list against its source.
We upload and publish to your store, formatted and ready for customers, with progress updates along the way.
Large launches can start with a small test batch, so you can check shades and swatches on your store before the rest goes up.

FAQ
Yes, we upload beauty and cosmetics products to Shopify for you, with ingredient lists entered exactly as supplied. These answers cover shades, claims, labeling, and cost.
Yes. We set up each product with a Shade option, so every shade becomes its own variant with a name, SKU, barcode, stock quantity, and swatch image. Shopify allows up to 2,048 variants per product (as of October 2026, see the Shopify Help Center), so a long shade range fits on one product page.
Yes. We copy ingredient (INCI) lists word for word from your supplier's documents and never shorten, reorder or rewrite them. If a list is missing or doesn't match the product, we ask you before anything goes live.
No. We enter ingredient lists, warnings, and product claims exactly as you or your supplier provide them. Labeling rules differ by country, so compliance stays with you and your supplier, and we don't review or certify it.
Only when your supplier states them for that product. We enter those attributes as supplied so shoppers can filter by them, and our SEO product descriptions don't add new claims.
A free, custom quote, priced on products, shades, and fields. Shade count matters most: a single-size cleanser is one variant, while a foundation in 40 shades is 40, each with its own swatch, SKU, and barcode.
Your supplier price lists or spreadsheets, ingredient lists, shade charts, product photos, and swatches, plus any naming rules your store follows. A link to the brand's trade site or a shared image folder works too.
Yes. We add new shades as variants on the existing product, so it keeps its page and links instead of becoming a duplicate, and we update or hide discontinued shades when you tell us to.
Yes. We enter sizes in the units your store shows, metric only or metric with US units, such as 50 mL (1.7 fl oz), in the same format on every product and variant.
